TIPS ‘N TOES NAIL SALON provides busy and time conscious professionals and house wives a relaxing and excellent way to reward tired, working hands and feet in a friendly environment.
TIPS ‘N TOES NAIL SALON employs state of the art nail care and nail art technology such as nail sculpturing, nail repair, hot oil manicure, hand paraffin wax, foot spa therapy, and waxing among other services.
TiPS ‘N TOES is the only nail salon in the Philippines, which intensively trains their personnel to become professionally qualified nail technicians whose priority is to continuously improve on the craft catering to clients tastes and preferences.
So when her favorite nail salon, Tips ’N Toes, was on the verge of folding up in 1999, what better way for certified nail care addict Jenny Tipton-Angeles to break into the business world than by buying out the old owner and running the show herself. She found her nice business and what a gem it is. Together with sister Margaret Tipton, who is in charge of the creative and training aspects of the business, Jenny set out to reinvent a concept that has been in the market for years.
Starting 1999, Tips ’N Toes added new services-moving beyond just the hands and the feet to include hair removal, massage and, most recently, eyelash extensions.
New nail products and technologies were also brought in from abroad, enhancing its already long list of specialized services.
The overall look of the salons and attendants were also changed to suit the taste of the younger crowd with the outlets sporting bolder colors. The atmosphere is also more laid back.
Tips’ n’ Toes was the first to bring the technology of sculptured nails or nail extensions to the country. The process involves affixing artificial nail tips, usually plastic, to the ends of the fingernails, which are then trimmed and shaped to the length and look the customer desires. A transparent acrylic paste is applied on top to even out the surface, then buffed to a fine sheen to give the nail a natural finish. Another method is to apply acrylic to the nail tip and shape it as desired when it hardens. The result is not as white as with plastic tips, but it still looks very natural. The customer has the option to have the finished nail polished in her favorite color or left as is. Currently, the most popular style is the innocently sexy French Manicure.
Being a regular of the old Tips ’N Toes has given Jenny the chance to bond, with others like her who enjoy a regular dose of pampering ones that she now calls partners in her business.
When the nail salon opened itself to franchisees around six years ago, she relates that fellow nail care aficionados Kristine Casido and Dina Tobojka were the first to open their own Tips ’N Toes salons.
Apart from the SM Megamall and Greenbelt 1 branches that Jenny owns, Tips ’N Toes now has three more branches: one at Timog, which Kristine runs, and three at Alabang West Gate, SM Bicutan and San Antonio Plaza Forbes Park which belong to Dina.
TIPS ‘N TOES has outlets at SM Megamall, Tomas Morato, Greenbelt I, SM Bicutan, Alabang Westgate and San Antonio Plaza Arcade Forbes Park Makati. Opening Soon are Presidents Ave BF Paranaque, SM North Edsa The BLOCK, Petron La Vista Katipunan and Wilson, Greenhills.
